Coming off last week’s hiatus (read: holy hell were we busy), Tricks & Flicks Tuesday returns with a vengeance. This time we take it back to 2012 when now-Tottenham centre back and forever Belgian Jan Vertonghen turned out for the Dutch powerhouse Ajax.

I don’t know what to call this move, so let’s just break this video down second by second:

[0:01] Vertonghen languidly strolls up to the ball, nothing to see here folks.

[0:02] What’s a center-back doing flicking the ball up?

[0:03] WAIT WHAT DID THE BALL JUST DO?!

[0:05] “Yeah, I just did that.”

[0:09] Yelping is the only acceptable response when a piece of absolute tekkers gold like that is caught on camera.

[0:13] Vertonghen’s teammate has no idea how he did what he did, but maybe ghost-recreating it without the ball will shed some insight.

[0:18] Only slow motion really shows off the full brilliance of this piece of skill.
